We provide high performance training that is focused on getting the individual athlete and/or team prepared to achieve their desired outcome and perform their competition routine to the highest level.


Superior Sports Performance (SSP) designs aerobic and anaerobic training programs for the individual cheerleader or dancer on an all-star, high school, or collegiate competition team. Our programs are available to the individual online or customized for teams and their goals with an emphasis on progression training. Our training is delivered in three phases that concentrates on the development of the athlete through the offseason to preseason to competition season.


We first seek to understand your goals then execute a plan that achieves athletic excellence.

 

Dance    

We focus on understanding what your choreography is designed to showcase.  More importantly, we seek to identify what skills are required and how to incorporate a training program designed to improve the dancers' ability to execute those skills i.e. leaps, turning combinations, hip-hop tricks.


As a part of our custom designed team plan, SSP first evaluates your team's current cardiorespiratory fitness.  A high level of respiratory fitness is critical for dancers to perform routines at maximum effort the way the choreography was intended to be performed. 


Once your team's fitness is assessed, we will develop a plan based on progression that is focused on your specific gaps in fitness.   Our training program deploys a phased approach that includes aerobic-base training, aerobic-efficiency training, and anaerobic-endurance training.



 

Cheer

SSP's core focus is to learn what skills are required by your team including tumbling, stunting, and jumps.  We review your overall performance goals and determine the right training approach that will showcase your team's athletic abilities at maximum levels during performances.


Our foundational strength and cardiorespiratory fitness training is designed with your athlete in mind.  We know that each cheer athlete may have different skill expectations in a routine and this is why we incorporate anaerobic-endurance and anaerobic-power training into our designed plan.


After careful evaluation of your team's physical expectations, SSP's training program is rolled out in three phases.  Each phase incorporates progression programming on power and agility output as well as improving ventilatory (VO2 max) and lactate threshold response to increasing exercise intensity.
